Meet your Student Services team!
Mrs. Gina Montague |
I am so excited to be at Powell! I graduated with my M.Ed. in School Counseling from NC State University. This is my 6th year in elementary school counseling. I love helping children meet their needs. I use solution-focused play counseling when working with students, as I firmly believe in Powell's theme of Play and Ingenuity as the primary method children learn and grow!
Some of my favorite things include Disney, coffee, boba tea, singing, and origami. I have a wonderful husband and a dog named Jerry at home. I look forward to working with all of Powell's wonderful students! It's going to be a great year! |
Mrs. Cathy Mullins |
I am so excited to be back at Powell and to work with an amazing team of people! I have a Master of Social Work degree from Smith College School for Social Work in Northampton, MA.
I have been in social work for many years and prior to school social work I worked in the mental health field as a clinical social worker. School social workers provide a link between home, school and community by providing services that positively impact the whole child. For children to do their best in school and reach their potential, families must be able to support their student and much of the work I do is with families and community resources. I truly enjoy building relationships with students and their families and have been lucky to be at Powell for thirteen years! When I am not at work, I enjoy reading, cooking and spending time with my husband of 33 years, my two adult daughters and many wonderful friends |
